Origin: Washington, USA. Developed by John I. Haas and Brulotte Farms in the Yakima Valley. BRU-1 is big and bold with a fruit-forward character that offers clean bittering as well as a big aroma impact. BRU-1 has a high Myrcene oil content that makes up over 50% of the total oil and contributes aromas of pineapple and stone fruit that are backed by a soft spice.
Usage: In the boil for bitterness, in the whirlpool/hopstand for flavor and aroma. Dryhop for flavor and aroma. Great for hop-forward styles.
Aroma & Flavor Characteristics: Strongly tropical with pineapple and green fruits. Some light spicy herbal notes.
Alpha Acid: 13 - 15%
Beta Acid: 8 - 10%
