Origin: Oregon, USA. Sonnet® hops are the famous English Kent Golding variety but grown in Oregon. Sonnet carries some of the same floral and herbal elements as EKG, but this American-grown lot presents with brighter citrus and a beautiful floral note of honeysuckle. Sonnet hops work well in classic English styles and lagers and fit perfectly in new twists on those styles. Perfect substitute for US Goldings.
Usage: Aroma. Use where you would use EKG, such as hoppy ales from the British Isles: IPA, pale ale, and bitter. It’s used at lower rates to subtle effect in Scottish and other darker, maltier ales.
